Josiah Martin, affectionately known, as JoJo is the youngest of five boys. JoJo began singing at the age of four. Growing up a pastor’s son in Monterey, California, he knew that his desire for music was growing both in and out of church. By the time he was seven, he was traveling around California singing at different musicals and singing solos for his father before he preached. By the time he was 13, he began to travel around the country singing with all of his four brothers named, “The Martin Boys!” He also went to the finals in Houston, TX for the NAACP ACT-SO Competition. By 16 he had recorded a record titled, “Just Praise Him” and after that a re-record of “So Good” with Joe Pace and The Colorado Mass Choir. JoJo then went on to become the Minister of Music of Preeminence Christian Fellowship in Colorado Springs, CO where Brian Ellsworth was the pastor. After high school, he moved to Atlanta, GA to pursue his singing and writing career. He has had the pleasure of touring with PJ Morton, James Fortune and FIYA, Dave Hollister, Fred Hammond, and many opportunities to share the stage with other great artists. Now 34, JoJo is signed to PJ Morton’s label, “Morton Records,” and looks forward to releasing his debut solo album soon.
